Questions about Super Pinch & Zoom?
Clear answers for installation, product media, plans and theme compatibility.
Installation and setup
Is there a storefront demo?
Yes. Visit color-variations.myshopify.com and enter storefront password 1. The demo lets merchants preview the customer-facing experience before installing.
How do I activate the app embed?
- In Shopify Admin, go to Online Store → Themes.
- Click Customize on the theme you want to use.
- Open App embeds in the theme-editor sidebar.
- Enable Super Pinch & Zoom and click Save.
- Preview a product page and click a product image.
Should I disable my theme’s built-in image zoom?
Yes, when the theme already opens its own zoom viewer. Disable the theme zoom to prevent two viewers from responding to the same click. The setting is normally found in the product template or product-media section of the theme editor.
How quickly can I set up the app?
Most stores can enable the app embed and test the default Smart Lightbox in a few minutes. Advanced themes or heavily customized product galleries might need selector assistance from support.
Zoom and gallery features
Does zoom work on desktop and mobile?
Yes. Desktop shoppers can click or hover according to the selected experience. Touch devices use tap, swipe and pinch gestures with responsive controls.
Does it work with product variant images?
Yes. When a shopper selects a color, size or other variant, the app can open the currently selected variant media and keep the gallery context synchronized.
Which product videos are supported?
The viewer supports Shopify-hosted product video plus YouTube and Vimeo media included in the product gallery. Video availability can depend on the selected plan and theme markup.
Can merchants customize the lightbox?
Available controls include viewer theme, thumbnail position, transitions, captions, cursor style, zoom level and branding. Higher plans unlock more presentation and targeting controls.
What is the Shoppable Gallery Page?
Gallery Page lets merchants create responsive visual galleries using Shopify-hosted images. Available options include multiple gallery layouts, consistent image sizing, background and button styling, lightbox viewing and product tagging. Gallery data and images remain on Shopify to reduce requests to GreatsHub hosting. Availability and controls depend on the selected plan.
How does Sticky Cart work?
Sticky Cart keeps a compact purchase bar visible after the main product form moves out of view. It follows the shopper’s selected product variant, image, price and quantity, then uses Shopify’s native cart flow when Add to cart is selected. Merchants can customize its colors, button style, position and responsive behavior according to their plan.
Plans and billing
Is a free plan available?
Yes. A free plan is available for essential image zoom. Paid plans add richer gallery media, variants, customization, advanced zoom experiences and conversion features.
How do I upgrade, downgrade or choose yearly billing?
Open the app in Shopify Admin, select Plans, choose monthly or yearly billing, and select a plan. Shopify shows the charge for approval before the subscription changes. Yearly billing provides 12 months for the price of 10 where offered.
Compatibility and troubleshooting
Which Shopify themes are supported?
The automatic media detector is designed for modern Online Store 2.0 themes, including popular Shopify themes such as Dawn. Because themes can be customized, a manual product-media selector or store-specific script can be configured when automatic detection is not enough.
What should I check if zoom does not open?
- Confirm the app embed is enabled on the active theme.
- Make sure the app feature is enabled in Zoom Setup.
- Disable any competing theme lightbox temporarily.
- Test in a private browser window to avoid cached theme assets.
- Contact support with the store URL, theme name and a product-page link.
Where are storefront settings and gallery images stored?
Zoom configuration is published through Shopify app metafields and the theme extension. Gallery images use Shopify-hosted media and Shopify CDN delivery, reducing repeated requests to GreatsHub hosting.
Can I turn the storefront feature off?
Yes. Disable zoom from the app’s Zoom Setup page or turn off the Super Pinch & Zoom app embed in the Shopify theme editor.
